My name is Lawrence M. Krause, M.D., F.A.C.S.  I am a board certified General Surgeon specializing in the evaluation and treatment of both benign and malignant breast conditions.  I have been in practice in the Chicagoland Metropolitan area since 1984.  I trained with Arthur G. Michel, M.D., F.A.C.S. a well respected and nationally recognized breast surgeon.  Dr. Michel and I were partners until his untimely death in November of 2000.  I have strived to continue in his footsteps to treat patients with breast problems with skill and compassion.

Hello,

My goal in creating this website is to provide a place where patients can find  information about my practice, as well as information related to breast issues, especially breast cancer.  I have prepared detailed instructions for patients who are scheduled to see me for the first time.  As new studies pop up in the medical literature, or are on the news that relate to breast cancer, I will try to comment on them, and perhaps provide a more accurate assessment of their potential benefits than the news often does.  While I am a very experienced breast surgeon, and reasonably computer literate, this is my first attempt at creating a web page.  Please consider this a work in progress.  I hope to update this website frequently.

As this is my first endeavor at developing a computer forum for my patients, I would greatly appreciate your feedback.  Please feel free to email me at lkrause@lakeshoresurgicalassociates.com.  I will try my best to either address your comments on my website, or if it is more appropriate, via email.  Please do not ask me specific questions about yourself, as they would be more appropriately answered during a scheduled medical visit.  General questions such as breast cancer risks, new medications, new imaging, etc., are better for this site.  I look forward to hearing from you.

 Have a good day,

LMK
